Child Slavery In The US Present Day

Yes there is still slavery in the US. Yes there is child slavery in the US. Yes I was a child slave in the US as late as 2003 in a Christian fascist boarding school in Missouri, and very little has changed. If you think slavery is a thing of the past, you need to educate yourself. If you think children couldn’t possibly be slaves in this country, you are missguided and illinformed. It shouldn’t be that way, but it is and if its to change we all must work together to expose, uproot and destroy the groups who use prisoners, children, and those they exploit through human trafficking for slave labor and sexual gratification.

I was a child slave in a place called Agape Boarding School, where I was made to do hard labor, unpaid, often in conditions that would be considered illegal for any adult under any employer in any state, for years. I wasn’t able to quit. I wasn’t able to refuse. The labor I did broke my spine in several places and is part of what gave me CPTSD. The labor and abuse I suffered is part of why I’m disabled and unable to work today and why I’m on SSD. So child slavery has a price. A price we all pay that is hidden but is still expensive.

This entire compound was built with slave labor as was Agape Boarding School’s compound in Othello WA where they moved kids onto a property without heat, running water, or proper bathrooms and made them construct better facilities from scratch with improper training, materials and safety gear leading to a few of them later developing cancers that we believe may be related to the Asbestos they removed without any gear.

Agape also used us to assist farmers, horse ranchers, and other locals with various projects in an effort to keep the town of Stockton, MO quiet about the child abuse, runaways, and suspicious activities they witnessed around and at the school. It worked. In fact it worked so well that when one of the townsfolk spoke up the others threatened her and her autistic son and tried to drive them out of town. They said that she would cost them too much in labor by shutting the school down. Think about that. They were getting so much free labor that they were concerned they couldn’t afford to hire people if their supply of child slaves dried up so they attacked her, at her home, at her place of work, followed her son, and threatened them all for simply speaking up for kids being abused and used as slaves.

Agape is far from the only one of these schools, programs etc. that use children as slave labor. There are thousands of these places across the US; many of them in red states, controlled by Christian fascist Republicans, who see no problem with using children as a expendable free labor. They have no problem breaking the backs of little girls and boys, causing them to develop cancers that will eventually kill them, and destroying their quality of life to profit and we aren’t doing much about it if anything at all.

This is nothing new. The Indigenous Boarding Schools were almost all run by religious sects from Catholics to Mormons, Protestant Christians etc. They also treated children the same way. Beat them, forced them to work hard labor jobs, even killed them when they wouldn’t comply. We haven’t ever exited this chapter of our history. Its just burried now. Its just concealed now. Its just hiding behind religious exemptions and politicians.

I could go on forever about this topic and do in my books but I suggest you write your represantives. Tell them you will not tolerate ANY institution that uses children as slave labor regardless of their religion. We must demand that religous exemptions to the laws against child labor and child abuse are lifted in all 50 states so that we can inprison, jail, and remove these abusive people and protect children from these psychopaths. I will be working on a template and a Change.org petition to do just that. I ask that you join me in signing that petition and sending the letter to your represenatives. Togther we can work to end child slavery and abuse in this country.
