The Funny Farm

In my own personal experience these evangelical Christians running the country are very ignorant when it comes to mental health and sometimes stubbornly ignorant on purpose. They believe in beating people, working them half to death or imprisoning them over helping them work through their issues in a more compassionate way. They are fascists, Nazis to be exact.

My opinion is rooted in my own story, which you can read in my books or blogs here or hear on various video interviews I’ve done. I was abused heavily then sent off to a boys home then a boarding school both of which were extremely abusive and both designed to beat and work the rebellious spirit out of me. In the end, these places did much more harm than they did good. Many parents send their stubborn kids to places like this and we call the collection of these places, the industry the troubled teen industry. It is an industry that preys on young kids with various mental health issues like autism, anxiety, depression, or trauma and paints them as “bad”. These places aim to crush the spirit of the teens in their care, rob them of their individual identities, strip them of their connection to others then imprint what they will on the shell that is left behind.

Working children half to death in the hot sun doesn’t cure ADHD. Beating children doesn’t make them less rebellious. It makes them avoid you, fear you, but it will not lead to them actually respecting you or trusting you. It will erode that trust and they will keep secrets from you. The troubled teen industry often strips kids of their meds, especially the Christian programs. They sometimes even take them off their meds cold turkey which an cause seizures or even death. They don’t believe in science or psychology. They often mock it and think all these kids need is more church, more Jesus, to pray more, to be less sinful etc. They regularly allow children to go years without care because they simply ignore that the child has an issue. For them its better to ignore it than to acknowledge it and seek help from medical professionals outside of the church.

Now we have RFK running the show and it appears he wants to put people like me, adults and children with ADHD, with mental health problems like depression and/or trauma based issues on farms, like the ones I was on when I was in the troubled teen industry, where they can be worked like slaves, abused, beaten, food can be withheld from them etc. This man is a Nazi and he gets off torturing people he views as less than himself!
